Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a 32-island chain in the eastern Caribbean, lying between Saint Lucia and Grenada. The main island, Saint Vincent, is green and mountainous, crowned by the still-active La Soufrière volcano, while the Grenadines – Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Union Island and the uninhabited Tobago Cays – offer some of the best sailing and snorkelling anywhere in the region. There are no direct flights from the UK, so every trip involves a connection, most often through Barbados. This hub page covers all the Vincentian airports we can ticket you through to.
The dry season runs from December to May, with dependable sunshine, lower humidity and steady trade winds – peak time for yachting and the busiest period for UK arrivals. June to November is the official hurricane season; September and October are the wettest and least predictable months, though showers are often brief. Temperatures stay around 27–30°C all year. For the best balance of weather and price, consider the shoulder weeks in late spring and early summer, and check the When to book chart above before you commit.
Argyle International Airport (SVD), about 20 minutes from the capital Kingstown, is the principal gateway and the only one built for larger jets. Within the Grenadines, small airstrips serve Bequia (BQU), Canouan (CIW), Mustique (MQS) and Union Island (UNI), reached by light aircraft or ferry. Almost all UK itineraries route via Grantley Adams International in Barbados (BGI); Saint Lucia, Grenada and Trinidad are alternative connecting points.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic fly from London to Barbados, with Virgin Atlantic and TUI Airways also operating from Manchester. From Barbados, regional carriers such as interCaribbean Airways, LIAT 2020, SVG Air and Mustique Airways complete the short hop to Argyle or the island strips. American Airlines links Miami with Argyle if you would rather route via the United States, though that adds an ESTA requirement. Typical flying time is around 8.5–9 hours to Barbados from London and similar from Manchester, plus roughly 50 minutes onward.
UK passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to one month; carry a passport with at least six months' validity and proof of onward travel. The currency is the East Caribbean dollar (XCD), pegged to the US dollar, which is also widely accepted; cards work in hotels and larger businesses, but take cash for the smaller islands. For booking timing, use the price charts and the When to book chart above.
Your allowance to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines depends on the airline and the fare you book. The table below shows typical long-haul allowances so you know roughly what to expect — always confirm the exact limits with your airline before you fly.
| Fare type | Hand baggage | Checked baggage |

| Premium economy | 1–2 cabin bags + personal item | Typically 2 × 23 kg |
| Business / First | 2 cabin bags + personal item | Typically 2 × 32 kg |
